Acne is Caused by Dirt

Not. Though I make many references to cleanliness on this site, acne is not really caused by a lack thereof. There are plenty of people who can walk around with a layer of grime on their faces all day and not break out, so dirt is not really the issue.
The thing is that for those of us with sensitive and/or acne prone skin, it helps to prevent potential irritants from touching the skin as much as possible. And so we keep it very clean…
